Private Robben Island tour – Lyn and Ron Acero, June 2019

“It has been a longtime wish to visit Robben Island since I was in high school learning of this man called Nelson Mandela. That wish came true, and through Christo Brand’s personal stories and interaction of his time in Robben Island and through the years after Nelson Mandela’s release, my husband and I felt we were also personal friends with Christo and Madiba. This visit was an invaluable experience, made so much more special by Christo.

Thank you Christo for the priceless time spent with us as you relived your time as a warden in Robben Island, the interest you had after learning that my husband is also in the same line of work that you were in, and your extreme patience with the many hungry questions we had. This was one of the many highlights of our unforgettable trip and we humble thank you both from our hearts.”
